Episode Four: That Time Being Gay Ruined a Perfectly Good Dinner

Episode Four is dedicated to the Tennessee William’s play The Glass Menagerie.  This week we sip a New Orleans’ staple, discuss authorial intent, and discuss the intentional symbols that get beaten over your head in this episode.

If you want to drink along:

Ramos Gin Fizz

IMG_3720

  • 1 1/2 oz gin (Seersucker as always)
  • 3/4 oz heavy cream
  • 3/4 oz fresh citrus juice (lemon and lime)
  • 3/4 oz simple syrup
  • Either 3 dashes orange flower water or 3/4 oz Triple Sec out of necessity
  • 1 fresh egg white
  • Ice to shake
  • Soda water or tonic water to top

Make sure all of your ingredients are cold, but put ice in the bottom of a shaker cup. Put all ingredients but soda/tonic water into the shaker cup. Shake for five minutes. Have your friends video you shaking it. Curse the gods and the person who asked you to make a Ramos Gin Fizz. Finish and pour into a glass. Add soda/tonic water by pouring it gently over a spoon so it does ruin the cool meringue effect on the top. Photograph and post to your Instagram to prove you are a champion of cocktail making.
