Episode Six is devoted to the Charlotte Bronte novel Jane Eyre.
This week we take the role of men of the Victorian era and sip port while discussing the bird/angel/fairy/sprite/goblin/thing that is the description of Jane Eyre. We also discuss the horrors of dating, better options for Jane, and reference our thankfulness that we don’t feel men are a project.
To drink along: Port
Fill a large glass with Madeira or Port. Bemoan your own days of dating. Question all of your life choices. Ruin the life of an innocent person while you keep your spouse in the attic.

Special thanks to the following sources:
- Charlotte in Love by Brian Wilkis
- A Secret Sisterhood: The Literary Friendships of Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, George Eliot, and Virginia Woolf by Emily Midorikawa and Emma Claire Sweeney
- Jane Eyre, the film starring Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska
This is terrifying reminder that if we get 50 listens to this episode in a week, Victoria will have to read a passage from 50 Shades of Grey.
